The path of non-duality is the authentic outcome of practicing yoga. With Eka meaning singular/unique/one, and Amita meaning boundless/limitless/measureless/infinite, my intention is to aid in connecting others to the sincere ways of ancient yogis. I offer training and counselling stemming from the non-dual paths of Buddhism, Hinduism, Yoga and modern evidence-based health research.
Yogic practices have often included transformation in what one eats, whether it be for longevity, preventing disease/pain, or for ethics. Having studied nutrition at various universities which were lead by evidence-based research, I offer guidance and education for people in need of change. Proper health, habits, and sustenance are paramount to an effective and vibrant yoga practice.

From releasing tensions in our nervous system to building muscle to support our joints and bones, consistent movement of the body is also key in living a happy, long life. Here I go beyond common postural practice to teach the science of HIIT, Cardio, Strength, Stretching, and Mindful Motion in order to give each individual efficient growth and training. Yoga is far more than sequenced stretching, and can include any motions done with the properi ntentions and consciousness.
The links between the ancient meditative practices of Buddhists and Yogis, and the modern findings of psychology and neuroscience or profound. Having studied neuroscience/psychology in university & beyond, as well as having over a decade of research and practice in meditation, I can aid people in realizing states of tranquility, joy, compassion, purpose and more. Often our reactive tendencies and fixed viewpoints drive our feelings of pain and suffering - meditation and self-inquiry are keys to altering these internal habits.

All the benefits of increasing our well-being of body and mind are for the deeper intention of connecting with truth, love and with this infinite universe. I offer teachings and insights from the many lineages of Yoga, such as Chan/Zen Buddhism, Dzogchen/Ati Yoga, Advaita Vedanta, Bhakti Yoga, Kashmir Shaivism, and Taoism. Gradually, through these teachings, one can sustain heightened awareness, great compassion and feelings of bliss. This is my favorite focus for yoga and the rest of the previous teachings culminate here.
With one-on-one mentoring/instruction, as well as online content, this is the first authentic non-dual yoga teacher training that I know of. Yoga is a term that has evolved much in the last hundred years, but it is now not associated with its roots - which include Buddhists, Zen hermits, tantrikas, bhaktas, jnanis and so on - not just the sect which practices physical postures and breathwork. This is a large training course which takes the student on a journey - spanning from the pre-history of Vedic/Shamanic India to the cultural revolutions around Buddha's timeline; from the teachings of China and Tibet, all the way to our modern advancements in both knowledge and wisdom. Contact my below for further information if you are interested in learning a more sincere and honest grasping of yoga.

My name is John Crowdis, and I have been training in various lineages of yoga/meditation for over 12 years, as well as having backgrounds in Nutrition, Herbalism, Psychology, Ethics, and Fitness.Seeing the amount of disease in my family as well as many others, I sought ways to counteract these pains ever since being a teenager. I first wanted to understand happiness and thus studied Philosophy and Psychology/Neuroscience at Dalhousie University. This lead me to learning about the benefits of meditation, and it has been only improvements in my health and joy since. On this eternal journey, I feel compassion/love are our main reasons for living, and the accumulation of wisdom/experience that I have is for the betterment of all who seek.
